The Boeing 717-200 (ICAO: B712 / WAKE: MEDIUM) is a twin-engine, single-aisle jet airliner. Created in Second Life by Coltercraft Aviation, the aircraft was based on the real-life Boeing 717-200 built by Boeing Commercial Airplanes.
The real-life Boeing 717 was specifically designed for the short-haul, high frequency 100-passenger airline market. The standard 717 had a two-class configuration with 106 seats and featured a five-across-seating arrangement in economy class, with illuminated handrails and large overhead stowbins. Up front, the two-crew flight deck incorporated six interchangeable liquid-crystal-display units and Honeywell VIA 2000 computers. Flight deck features included an Electronic Instrument System, a dual Flight Management System, a Central Fault Display System, and Global Positioning System. Powered by two Rolls-Royce BR715 turbofan engines, the 717 had maximum range of 2,060 nautical miles (3,820 km).
Coltercraft's Boeing 717-200 is an attachment aircraft composed of two parts - a base aircraft and a wearable detail attachment. The airliner is equipped with all the standard features - animated components (doors, flaps, surfaces, landing gear etc.) and functioning lighting (landing lights, navigation lights, strobes and beacon). In addition, the 717-200 has a built-in flight attendant which detects passengers automatically and informs them of what is happening (by both sound and text). If checklists are followed, the attendant will inform passengers at the appropriate time. The aircraft also comes with several simulated ground vehicles that rez in the appropriate locations relative to the aircraft. These vehicles include air stairs, baggage carts, catering truck and a refuelling truck. Ground equipment will include the airport's logo if at a supported airport.
