Blake Sea Airport West (ICAO: SLBS) was a public fixed platform airport located in the 'Qlar Fell' region of southern Nautilus. The facility replaced the defunct Blake Sea & Claremont Airports.

Landing Advisories

  • Runways located on platforms suspended 80m above surface level. Minimum recommended approach at 90m.

Background

Operating from late 2013 until August 2014, the original Blake Sea/Claremont Airport conglomeration was eventually closed by its owners in favour of a new location in southern Nautilus. Despite being located on a different continent, the new airport would continue to adopt the "Blake Sea" moniker; becoming Blake Sea Airport West.

Blake Sea Airport West was a large, dual-runway airport constructed on a platform suspended 77m above sea-level. The flight deck featured two public rez zones, a towering terminal building, ATC control tower, refuelling station, and numerous rental hangars along the platform perimeter. At sea level, underneath the platform, there was seaplane access for mooring boats and aircraft.

During its lifetime, the site grew in complexity, adding numerous buildings and further extending the (already domineering) terminal building. In the middle of May 2015, it was announced that Blake Sea Airport West, along with other properties owned by RamblinRick Burns, would be closed on the 22nd of May.

Airlines

There are no longer scheduled services to and from Blake Sea Airport West, as of May 2015.
