Background

Lighthouse Intercontinental Airport was intended to be an Executive airport with an emphasis on realism and presenting some much needed changes in SL aviation to help merge the world of flying in RL with the same experience in SL. It was located in the Nautilus continent and covered the regions of Whiskers, Tiberius and parts of Tumblebrutus. It also had LL Highway connections via LL Hwy Rt 12 and the Lighthouse Bridge over Tumblebrutus Bay.

There were 19 hangars available for rent in varying sizes, along with three helipads. There was also a public rez zone, temp parking and helipad landings, a control tower, and a one of a kind unique custom build terminal that housed at least 8 front gates, 2 large loading gates with FUNCTIONAL jetways, and 2 small ones with stairs down to the loading zone.

There were two runways - One was 200m by 19m wide for larger aircraft and the other was a smaller 150m by 12m wide runway for smaller prop planes and small jets. The runways were also very unique and due to their position, offered the average pilot a bit of a challenge in taking off and landing due to there only being one sim to line up and make that perfect landing.

As of December 2016, the airport has been completely erased and the land is up for sale.
