The Lockheed C-130 Hercules (ICAO: C130 / WAKE: MEDIUM) is a four-engine turboprop military transport aircraft. Created in Second Life by Fastronnix Aviation, the aircraft was based on the real-life C-130 Hercules, designed and built originally by Lockheed, now Lockheed Martin.

Background

Capable of using unprepared runways for takeoffs and landings, the real-life C-130 was originally designed as a troop, medical evacuation, and cargo transport aircraft. The versatile airframe has found uses in a variety of other roles, including as a gunship (AC-130), search and rescue, scientific research support, aerial refuelling, maritime patrol, and aerial fire-fighting. It is now the main tactical airlifter for many military forces worldwide, with over 40 models and variants of the Hercules serving with more than 60 nations. The family has the longest continuous production run of any military aircraft in history.

Available only in-world, Fastronnix Aviation's recreation of the Hercules features working side-doors and cargo ramp, landing gear, flaps, co-pilot controls, jet assisted take-off (JATO), realistic engine start-up time, and realistic lighting (landing light, navigation lights, strobes, and beacon). The aircraft comes in thirteen different paint schemes (all no mod), with a modifiable version and templates for custom-livery design.
