This is a historic article about an airport which no longer exists or has been replaced.
Walker Field (ICAO: SLWF) is a public heliport in the 'Walker' region of south-eastern Corsica.
Landing Advisories
- Elevation advisory: Landing surface at 30m, minimum recommended approach at 50m.
- Ban-line advisory: To the south-east of the heliport there is a parcel surrounded by ban lines.
Background
Built circa May 2015, Walker Field was initially a simple airfield consisting of an unmarked/unlit dirt landing surface, a basic wooden ATC tower, and DSA refuelling facilities. By September 2015, the owner had demolished the facility and converted the airfield into a heliport with (initially three separately marked) helipads. Below the airstrip there is a Pelican Bay Marina.
