The Lockheed Model 10-E Electra (ICAO: L10 / WAKE: LIGHT) is a twin-engine, all-metal monoplane airliner. Created in Second Life by DSA Aeronautics, the aircraft was based on the real-life Model 10 Electra built by the Lockheed Aircraft Corporation and flown by Amelia Earhart on her ill-fated around-the-world expedition in 1937.
Developed by the Lockheed Aircraft Corporation in the 1930s to compete with the Boeing 247 and Douglas DC-2. DSA Aeronautics' Electra is a recreation of the highly modified Model 10E flown by aviatrix Amelia Earhart. In July 1937, she disappeared in her Electra during an attempted round-the-world flight.
Built in mesh, the DSA model comes in two paint versions including the Canadian "Trans Canada Airlines" version and the "Amelia Earhart" version (created by Josh Noonan). The sounds were created specially for this model by Whitewolf Mumfuz and the model and Canadian paint by Martin. The aircraft comes equipped with individually scripted engines, passenger door, landing gear and lighting that includes navigation, beacon, landing and strobes. It has seating for 10 as well as the pilot and copilot
